May 2013
After a very slow start to the breeding season due to bad weather and a lot of squashed eggs (fighting by keeping untried yearling cocks and thin shelled eggs) my first pair of Scandaroon chicks of the year,

The Scandaroon pigeon is one of the more unusual amongst the many types of fancy pigeons...............................
It is a large size pigeon and in Victorian times was often referred to as the Scandaroon Runt ( Runts were a name used for a large table breed of pigeons ).
The beak has a downward curve accompanied by a large wattle. The bull eyes are surrounded by a bright red eye cere so with its large size and in the very striking pied marking is certainly a pigeon which gets noticed.
I hope to be able to show you that this breed is one of the more interesting fancy pigeons breeds and those of you who already keep them know what great parents they are, rearing their chicks with the utmost care.
I have only in the past couple of years, been converted to their merits after housing a pair for several months whilst working on another pigeon project in 2009.
This year, 2013, I am breeding from six pairs
